- Victor Considine, Chris D’Apolito and Judge R. Scott Krichbaum hit a trifecta of Hole-In-Ones at the Dave Ditzler Golf Outing last Saturday at Mill Creek North in Boardman. Odds of such a feat: 174 million to 1;

- Golf equipment sales have gone crazy this summer! U.S. retail golf equipment sales for August 2020 were up nearly 32% over the same period in 2019. According to Golf Datatec, U.S. golf retail equipment sales for August 2020 were $331 million, compared to August 2019, which were $251 million, and the previous record year of August 2006, which were $287 million;

- The season finale of the 2020 Chippewa Scratch League will be played this coming Monday, Sep 28 in the 3/3/3 format followed by a steak night. There's extra jack in the pot to determine the season-long Leaderboard Champion, too (currently Rob Schustrich). All 2-player amateur teams are welcome;

Even Crain's Cleveland Business is writing about how well the golf business is doing in 2020, noting that the revenues lost from COVID-prevented outings have been made up by sold-out tee sheets and a run on pro shop merchandise.
