Metroparks Events Join Sold-Out Ranks

The first two events of the 2021 Cleveland Metroparks Golf season have reached sold-out status. But they're still taking wait list teams for the Shawnee Hills Spring Stroke Play on Sat, May 8th and the Manakiki Spring 2-M Scramble on Sat, May 15th. 2021 Chippewa Scratch League Begins

This coming Monday, May 3rd is the official start of the 2021 Chippewa Scratch League season! The weekly series of 9-hole 2-player scratch team events is played in a variety of formats, attracting fields of 20+ teams every week. - The first two Northern Ohio PGA tournaments of the season are in the books, see which teams won the Pro-Pro Premier at Firestone and the Pro-Pro Scramble at Shady Hollow;

- Kent State sophomore Cade Breitenstine of Akron won Ohio State’s Robert Kepler Intercollegiate at the OSU Scarlet Course;

- NOPGA member Jim Troy has made the cut at the PGA Professional Championship in FL and currently sits at T10, meaning he could garner some air time on Golf Channel this week;

- Registration opens this Saturday, May 1 for the 2021 Northeast Ohio Amateur Championship at Windmill Lakes Golf Club on June 5 - 7th;

- Sign up now for the NOGA Scratch Match Play Qualifiers: the Great Lakes Auto NOGA Scratch Series Four-Ball at Elyria is nearly sold out, the Great Lakes Auto NOGA Scratch Stroke Play at Westwood is halfway there;

- Youngstown-area juniors, registration is open for the 2021 Dickey Electric Greatest Golfer Juniors Series with 11 junior events;

- Entries are now being accepted for the first 2021 Greatest Golfer OnCore 2-Player Shootout of the season at The Links at Firestone Farms;

- Sign up now for these May 8th events: the Spring Senior Masters 2-M Scramble at Zoar Golf Club, and the Turkeyfoot Spring 2-M Scramble which will use variable tees by age and could bring a record-sized field;

- welcome to new Course Member Oak Shadows Golf Club in New Philadelphia, and watch for a story later this week on their "grand re-opening" events!
