NEWS & NOTES:
- Ironwood Golf Course in Hinckley has been bought by the Cleveland Metroparks and will remain in operation for at least 10 years, but the primary purpose of the purchase was not about golf;
|
- Registration for membership in the 2023 North Coast Junior Tour season is now open with another exciting schedule planned for junior golfers;
|
- The Golf Dome in Chagrin Falls had a super-close tournament finish once again, as the February Trackman Series at virtual Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey went down to the wire;
|
- The mid-February return of the Cleveland Golf & Travel Show to the IX Center was a success, as there were deals galore, plenty of contest winners, and hundreds of free lessons given by teachers and instructors from the NOPGA;
|
- In an effort to get more girls into golf, the Northern Ohio PGA is offering FREE sets of golf clubs through high school and middle school girls golf coaches with its Clubs Fore Kids Program;
|
- Windmill Golf Center is hosting four Ladies Golf Clinics in April, May, June, with registration open to the first 48 students who sign up;
|
- Veterans and Active Duty Military can still register for FREE for many of the 11 PGA HOPE Program dates hosted at courses around the region in 2023;
|
- Girls ages 8 to 18, beginner to advanced, can prep their game for 2023 through OGGF Girls Golf Clinics this winter and spring at various area locations;
|
- The Golf Dome is taking its March TrackMan Scratch Series event to Florida, playing at the virtual version of The Concession Golf Club with no entry fee.
