Ironwood Golf Course

Opened in 1971, is a Semi-Private club located in the southwest corner of Wauseon, Ohio that features well-maintained tees, fairways, and greens spread over the gently rolling terrain of Northwest Ohio.

The golf course is a converted corn field type golf course, but still has plenty of trees and shade. It is really fun to play. We have recently had the opportunity to play this course and really enjoyed it. Some of the fairways are lined with homes now and mature trees and it really adds a nice flavor and taste to the course. You will enjoy it.

Our favorite hole was the 6th hole, where you are teeing off over a pond onto a green. A nice par 3 that requires a lot of touch off the tee. That green is surrounded by homes and mature trees. You really don’t want to blade it, otherwise your ball will be in someone’s kitchen.

They also do a great job with outings and tournaments. They will bring in extra golf carts if necessary. The staff is friendly and fantastic.

They have recently added an indoor simulator and this will give area golfers something to do in the winter.

The club house staff is very friendly and responsive. They sell sports drinks, water, cigars, and are quite helpful. If you have any issues or problems, they will address them right away.

The golf course measures 6,965 from the back tees and is a stern, but fair test of golf for all skill levels. The Course Superintendent of 40 plus years and Golf Professional of 10 years help to provide one of the best golf experiences in all of the region.

The have a nice outdoor driving range, but at high noon the sun will be right in your eyes and you will not be able to see where the ball has landed.

Women, kids, and adults of all skills levels are welcome on the course. They have quite a few leagues and events in the summer months, so be sure to check before you head out. But that’s the same for any golf course.
