NEWS & NOTES:

- LAST CALL for two big fall 3-Player Scrambles: the Madison Fall 3-Player Scramble at Madison CC on Saturday, Sep 28, and the Little Mountain 3-Player Ironman Scramble at Little Mountain CC in Concord on Saturday, October 5;

- Michele Thompson claimed a wire-to-wire victory at the 2024 Women's Ohio State Senior Amateur Championship at Piqua Country Club, while Tricia Honeycutt won the First Flight and Cindi Comchoc the Super Senior Division;

- Cleveland's Andrew Bailey qualified T17 at the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Kinloch GC in Virginia, but lost a tough opening match in 19 holes in the Round of 64;

- Canton's Suzi Spotleson finished T7 in qualifying at the U.S. Senior Women's Amateur Championship at Broadmoor Golf Club in Seattle, then won her Round of 64 match, but was eliminated 3&2 in the Round of 32;

- Over 60 Northern Ohio PGA members and the J.M. Smucker Co. combined to raise over $139,000 for the NOPGA Foundation during the 5th Smucker’s Birdies & Charity event at Portage Country Club last week;

- Coming soon: a preview of NOGA's 2024 Lewis Cup, the Amateurs vs. Seniors team competition to be played this weekend at Westfield Country Club;

- Team Tanglewood is the first all-girls PGA Junior League team to advance to the national PGA Jr Championship, having won the 17U Region 4 Championship last weekend;
