NEWS & NOTES:
- To become a better player in 2025, PGA pro Drew Pierson of The Clubhouse Cleveland (see ad above) suggests using the winter months to make an improvement plan then put that plan into practice in this comprehensive instruction story;
- Canal Fulton's Justin Lower has been on a heater on the PGA TOUR since last fall, most recently finishing T3 at The American Express in Palm Springs, see some video highlights;
- Elyria's Paul Lagrotteria won the first PGA TOUR NOGA Fantasy Series tournament of 2025 at The Sentry in Kapalua, with his 4 best players of 6 selected combining for 106 strokes under par. The next Fantasy event is Pebble Beach;
- The business of golf in the USA was healthy in 2024. According to the National Golf Foundation, green grass participation topped 28 million, a net increase of 1.5 million golfers, the biggest single-year jump since 2000. Total golf participation (on- and off-course) climbed to 47.2 million, a 5% gain versus 2023 and a +38% pre-pandemic;
- The 2025 NOPGA Junior Winter Camps hosted at Windmill Golf Center in Macedonia are now open for registration for the February and March sessions.
