Dublin Jerome (above) won both the Boys and Girls OHSAA Division I State Championships this week at Firestone, sweeping both titles for the fifth time. Last week in rain-shortened events in Dayton, Kettering's Archbishop Alter won the Boys D2 Championship, while Columbus Academy won the Girls D2 Championship for the fourth consecutive year. - Pepper Pike Club's Sean McGuire shot a final round 68 to win the NOPGA's Mitchell-Haskell Tour Championship by three, while Youngstown CC's Jon Jones won the Senior Division in a playoff;
- Nick Reardon took the Columbus District Golf Association Tournament of Champions title, Joe Podolski won the Senior Division, and Dave McKee topped the Super Seniors at Columbus Country Club;
- Trailing three teams after Scramble and Better Ball, Jimmy Wild + Bobby Spino mounted a comeback in Alternate Shot to win the Akron District Golf Association's 2-Player Jumble at Turkeyfoot by one;
- Dave Oates + Vaughn Snyder blitzed the field with a 13-under par 57 at the Twin Lakes Fall 2-P Scramble, winning by four shots while sweeping the double skins pot, too;
- Eaton's Sarah Willis shot 73-74 in U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur qualifying to earn the 21st seed in match play at Monterey Peninsula CC in Pebble Beach;
- Ken Corliss, Larry Cassady and Larry King are this year's additions to the SOPGA Hall of Fame, while Jim Saling earns the Lifetime Achievement Award;
- Jodie Han of Lewis Center is one of 20 junior players named to the nationally recognized 2025 AJGA Junior All-Star Team as a top age 12-15 golfer, the only player back from last year's team;
- Take advantage of the first ever Cleveland Cavaliers Golf Night, as golfers get discounted tickets to a Cavs game against the 76ers, a Cavs golf towel, and early access to warmups at Rocket Arena on Wed, Nov 5th;
- At an October 3rd reception, the Northern Ohio Golf Course Superintendent's Association named Mark Jordan as its latest Mal Mclaren Award winner and Grange Alves and Don Sweda to its Hall of Fame;
- The Legends of Cincinnati Golf awards dinner takes place on Thu, Oct 23 at Cooper Creek Event Center in Blue Ash, recognizing Georgianne Koch, Bill Williamson, and Burch Riber;
- The Active Season ends soon across Ohio for posting scores to GHIN for rounds played locally: October 31 for NOGA, November 14 for GCGA, November 30 for OGA and MVG;
