The NOPGA has conducted two events in 2025 and Brookside CC's Cory Kumpf (above right) was a victorious teammate in each. He first partnered with Windmill Golf Center's Randy Dietz (above left) to win the 36-hole Pro-Pro Premier better ball at Firestone last week, then won with his assistant Matt Nimsuwan in the Pro-Pro Scramble at Shady Hollow on Monday. NEWS & NOTES:


- The Northern Ohio Golf Association has updated its Player of the Year points system to include points from more of the region's top tournaments and to put more emphasis on the Northeast Ohio Amateur and NOGA Tour Championship;

- The Miami Valley Golf Association begins its 2025 tournament season on Monday, April 28th with a Spring Better Ball at NCR Country Club, check out this season preview;

- The Northern Ohio PGA asks you to clean out your garage and give back to the game by donating your old clubs or other unused golf equipment to help fund Clubs Fore Kids and PGA HOPE, supporting junior golfers and military veterans;

- Players age 25+ can now enter USGA qualifying for the U.S. Mid-Am at Troon CC in Scottsdale in September, and the U.S. Women's Mid-Am at Monterey Peninsula CC in Pebble Beach in October;

- The Ohio State Buckeyes Men's Golf Team won back-to-back tournaments, taking the Buckeye Classic at Columbus CC and then winning the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate at OSU Scarlet;

- The Xavier Women's Golf Team are the Big East Conference champions for the sixth consecutive time;

- The Wright State Men's Golf Team won the Horizon Conference for the second consecutive year and fourth time in six;

- Liam McCord (Boys 16-18), Hayden Li (Boys 13-15), Norah Zellen (Girls 16-18) and Savanna Blackmore (Girls 13-15) won their divisions at the Walden Junior Open at Walden Ponds GC in Cincinnati.
