The leaders atop the 2012 Chippewa Scratch League standings padded their totals on Monday in Doylestown, as Dave Oates and Sam Spino finished in a first place tie with Ty Kovach and Allen Freeman in a rainy back-nine scramble.
With the monster back tee on 18 still in play at Chippewa from the Championship on Sunday, a 4-under par total was the score needed to share first.
Spino has now joined his partner Oates with a four-figure total in the updated standings, the only two players at that level at the moment.
But Rick Bryson and Ryan Maxwell nabbed a T3 to at least narrow down the lost ground.
Howard Weaver and John Kabasky earned two of the three skins won on the evening to make the damp trip worthwhile.
There will be no league play next Monday, for the Labor Day holiday.
