It was the final session for the 2013 Chippewa Scratch League, and there was a money list title to be decided that hinged on a carry-over skins pot.
But none of the guys near the top of that money list could grab the prize.
Shayne Bishop and Ed Diebold took the entire carry-over skins pot by making a scramble eagle-3 right out of the gate on the 10th hole, then sealed up that 3-hole segment with another birdie to finish as the big winners on the evening. Their $930 grab vaulted them up to T6 on the 2013 Season Money List (final list below).
The Oates-Spino team beat out the team of Bobby Spino and Danny Marr, who finished third and fourth for the season and made a great run during the final few weeks but didn’t cash in on the final event as needed.
Quinn Parker dipped his fingers into pot yet again last night — this time with new partner Corey Leventhal — to finish in the fifth position on the year. Parker and Leventhal tied overall on the final night with Allen Freeman and Ty Kovach, who moved up to T25 on the season right behind Russ Rybka in 24th (argh!).
It was a fun year. Thanks to Kevin Larizza and Sean Hunka for another great season of competitive team golf, and all of the players look forward to 2014!
