It only took one week for Ty Kovach and Allen Freeman to bounce back to the top of the 2018 Chippewa Scratch League Leaderboard.
A week after Mike Simpson and Jim Krivanek posted a first place and won the entire skins pot to scale the top of the Leaderboard, Kovach and Freeman came close to returning the favor. They won the Better Ball format event on the back nine at Chippewa by two shots with a 5-under par 31, and took half of the skins pot by winning two of four.
Kovach and Freeman now hold a $70 lead over Simpson with just three weeks remaining in the 2018 season. Shayne Bishop jumped into fourth place ahead of Krivanek by $29, as he and Ken Koprivec finished T2 and grabbed a skin this week.
It looks like a race to the very last hole of the very last session to determine the 2018 Chippewa Scratch League champion…
