Mike Simpson and newly-minted Chippewa Champion Jim Krivanek wasted no time taking back the top spots on the 2018 Chippewa Scratch League Leaderboard.
One week after being bounced from the lead, they won the front-nine scramble for Week 16 and grabbed the entire skins pot with an eagle on the par-5 third hole.
It was a dominating 6-under par performance that gave them a one-shot victory over the temporary pairing of Shaun Kloetzer and Chris Okeson.
Simpson now sits at the top of the Leaderboard with a $108 edge over his partner Krivanek, and a $122 advantage over previous leaders Ty Kovach and Allen Freeman.
A reminder, there is no Scratch League play next week Monday, September 3rd, due to the Labor Day holiday.
Just two weeks remain in the season, including the big-money 3/3/3 Steak Night finale on September 17th. Lots could still happen, but Simpson and Krivanek sure took a huge step toward the season-long victory with this week’s performance…
