Some heavy rains in the late afternoon on Monday before the start of play created concerns, as did the dark moving skies and occasional rumbles of thunder. But Rob Schustrich and Chris Okeson put their heads down and took care of business in Week 8 of the 2018 Chippewa Scratch League to make a move up the Leaderboard.
The pair shot a 3-under par 33 on the front nine in the better ball format to win by a single shot. They also nabbed two of the three skins won on the session — birdies at the tough fifth and eighth holes — for a tidy haul of $210.
Kyle Jones and Drew Davidson finished second at 2-under par, and a trio of teams split third place. An eagle skin by Tyler Watkins on the par-5 third hole helped he and Jason Chadima to pad their T3 take.
The 2018 Leaderboard tightens even further as Schustrich and Okeson jump into the mix…
