Chris Helaney and Bernie Chupek made more putts than everyone else on the front nine of Chippewa on their way to a scramble victory in Week 13 of the Scratch League.
Helaney and Chupek earned their first victory of the season by a single shot over a pack of four second-place-finishing teams.
But one of those runner-up teams, Jeff Dean and Rick Bryson, came away as the big winners on the evening. They nabbed the only skin of the session with a birdie on the innocuous 124-yard par-3 sixth hole, good for $180. Pretty shocking, as every team had a reasonable birdie look there.
There will be no Scratch League play this coming Monday, as the series always takes Labor Day off. Competition will resume on Monday, September 9th.
Just four more league events remain, culminating in the big 3/3/3 finale on September 30th to determine the 2019 Chippewa Scratch League Champion…
