In golf, some things are just meant to be. When it’s your turn to win, you win.
24 teams showed up to compete in Week 13 of the 2020 Chippewa Scratch League, as a carry-over skin was in play after no team grabbed a skin in Week 12.
With the big turnout requiring a double-pay if a team wasn’t entered the prior week, the skins pot filled up to a juicy $960.
So what did it take to win that big skin? A solid double-birdie on a tough hole? A hole-out eagle?
Nope.
A chip-in birdie at the simple par-4 13th hole by Rob Schustrich, along with a standard par by partner Chris Okeson.
The $960 skins pot haul along with a T2 finish in the week’s shamble event jumped Schustrich and Okeson up the Leaderboard from T28 all the way up to T2 with just five more weeks to play.
Ty Kovach and Allen Freeman won the tough session with a mere 2-under par aggregate shamble total on the back nine, as the golf course was saturated from heavy rains from the last two days.
