The 2025 Cleveland Metroparks Golf Tournament Series has concluded with record attendance. We would like to thank all 780 participants in our 15 Player of the Year Series events, which took place at six different CMP golf courses and included formats such as two player better ball, match play, and our individual stroke play Course Championships. All of these events were an exciting lead up to the Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship, hosted this year at both Manakiki and Sleepy Hollow.
Many of the top amateur golfers in Northeast Ohio participated in multiple events, with many familiar names raising trophies at the end of each weekend. A large part of the CMG Player of the Year Series is the season-long points race. This year, the top four were only separated by 24 points, which is the difference of only a few places at a single event.
Rich Deichert was the largest point grabber, accumulating 158 points thanks to a second place finish at the GCAC and top finishes at the Big Met Course Championship and the Seneca Course Championship.
Ryan Stefanski (148 points) got off to a hot start, earning significant points in the early events this season, while Lucas Liberatore (140 points) had a strong showing at the Match Play event along with a few Course Championships.
These top three 2025 point earners will be automatically exempt in the 2026 GCAC.
Chris Okeson (134 points) and Jake Morgan (114 points) round out the top-5, while the top-10 and ties all earn a CMP Gift Card for their efforts. See the full listing of all CMG Player of the Year Points.
