As summer comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on a season of meaningful progress. From expanding access to the game for youth to supporting veterans and recognizing promising student-athletes, this year has been defined by real impact. Here’s a look at the programs and events that shaped our summer:
CLUBS FORE KIDS
This summer, 20 schools received clubs through our Clubs Fore Kids program! Many of these schools have limited resources and previously did not have access to golf equipment, making it challenging to start or expand their programs.
Now, with the support of Clubs Fore Kids, they have the tools to introduce more students to the game and create new opportunities for growth. At each school we served, our PGA Members and Associates also hosted a clinic to provide students and coaches with a foundation of skills and knowledge to build upon.
By pairing equipment with instruction, we’re helping schools open doors for their students to experience the lifelong benefits of golf.
PGA HOPE
PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) introduces Veterans and Active Duty Military to golf as a way to improve physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. Led by PGA Professionals, participants complete a free 6-week program that builds skills, confidence, and community.
In our Section, 22 programs are making a difference for 337 Veterans and counting.
2025 HOPE CUP
Seventeen PGA and LPGA Professionals welcomed four Veterans each from their HOPE programs for a memorable 9-hole scramble. The day kicked off with breakfast, a group photo, and a special proclamation from Tammy Puff, Director of Military and Veteran Relations for the State of Ohio, officially designating August 6th as PGA HOPE Day in Ohio.
After play, participants gathered for lunch and an inspiring conversation with Jimmy Hanlin and Browns legend Josh Cribbs, who shared meaningful stories from his career and personal journey. It was the perfect finish to an already powerful day of connection and celebration.
OPERATION: Play Days
After graduating from HOPE programs, Veterans and Active Duty Military often value the community they’ve built most. To keep those connections strong, Operation: Play Days offer graduates discounted outings to continue golfing, networking, and growing their HOPE community. We have a total of 11 Play days scheduled for our graduates!
