A group of 30 travelers, led by NOGA CEO Robb Schulze, went to Northern Ireland on September 3rd for a seven-day golf and site seeing trip arranged by Sullivan Travel. They stayed the first four nights at the Galgorm Spa and Resort near Belfast, and then on to the Fitzwilliam Hotel in Dublin.
In between, they played some of the world’s top golf courses, explored Irish towns, ate at spectacular restaurants, and enjoyed being tourists.
“The Irish people are fantastic and incredibly kind,” said Schulze. “Our group experienced world-class golf, a tour of the Titanic Museum, and the city of Belfast.”
As for the golf, the group traveled at just the right time. “Playing Royal Portrush just a few weeks after the 2025 Open Championship was the highlight of the trip,” Schulze reported. “Royal County Down – or RCD as all of us ‘insiders’ now refer to it – was absolutely fantastic as well. It’s easy to see why it’s regarded as the number one golf course in the world. But really, all of the courses we played were great.”
Asked for his own personal highlight, Schulze said, “The one thing that I have truly enjoyed on NOGA’s two trips to Ireland is seeing the reactions of the group to the type of golf courses we are not used to seeing in America. There is the stunning beauty of the Irish coastline, plus a history that long supplants our own, like the clubhouse at Ardglass that dates back to 1400.”
Schulze added one more high point. “A pint of Guinness isn’t too bad, either!”
