The finish to the 2012 season of the Lake Erie Golf Tour was a deathly quiet one: the last three scheduled dates on the tournament calendar were never played, including last Friday’s Tour Championship.
That final event, which was promoted as having a $1,000 guaranteed first place prize and was to be played at Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown, did not happen as scheduled. The LEGT website has not been updated past a call for entries for that final event, either.
With the last two events on the schedule not played due to low registration numbers, Lake Erie Golf Tour Director Chris Marino has decided to guarantee the first-place professional prize of $1,000 for the season-finale LEGT Tour Championship, to be held at Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown next week Friday, September 14th. Blake Sattler of New Philadephia won the Lake Erie Golf Tour tournament played at The Elms Country Club in Massillon today.
On a day with near perfect conditions, Sattler fired five birdies and an eagle en-route to a bogey free 7-under par 65 to beat Steve Lee of Columbus by one shot.
Steve Lee of Columbus, OH won the Lake Erie Golf Tour tournament at Chippewa Golf Club on Friday, June 29th.
Lee took advantage of the great course conditions by making 6 birdies en route to a 4-under par 67 to beat Blake Sattler of New Philadelphia by a single shot.

Justin Miller of Kent, OH won the season’s second event on the Lake Erie Golf Tour, played at Pine Hills Golf Club in Hinckley on Friday.
Even with wet, windy and cool conditions and a 45 minute rain delay, Miller played steady golf, going 1-under par on each nine enroute to a 2-under par 70 total and a one shot win.
