With winds of 15-20 mph that kept the rest of the field over par, Ty Kovach and Allen Freeman posted a 5-under par score of 65 in the combined total format on the front nine in the Chippewa Scratch League on Monday evening, winning by a whopping 7 shots.

Balk! Chippewa Scratch League to Kick Off Monday

Chippewa Monday Scratch LeagueSend the runner to second: Kevin Larizza balked the pitch for the start of the first official night of the Chippewa Monday Scratch League yesterday. Instead of starting the 2-M format, yesterday’s play featured an individual $10 warm-up skins game that was originally scheduled for the previous week but was rained out. So Kevin has a justifiable reason for his balk, but the runners still move ahead.

Now the league is scheduled to officially begin this coming Monday, May 9th. (And the $50 Big Skins game will continue play every Monday at 11:30 a.m. as well.)

But the big news coming out of this off-week is that Larizza has decided to implement a fairly major rules change.

2010 Chippewa Scratch League: Week 19 FINAL

Chippewa Monday Scratch LeagueIn the final Monday evening Chippewa Scratch League event of the 2010 season, the teams of Drew Thompson / Allen Freeman and Mike Simpson / Jim Kravanick tied for the top spot at 3-under par 33 in the better ball format on the back nine.

And in a spectacular season-long performance, Mike Kracker wins the 2010 Chippewa Scratch League Money List by a whopping $500, while Kracker’s partner Dr. Jeff Mallette finishes in second place.
