The team of Mike Armour & Jason Chadima tied with Ty Kovach & Allen Freeman, as each posted a solid score of 6-under par 29 on the front side to win the Chippewa Scratch League in the scramble format this week.
But the three hitter on the fifth hole and the 5-under par solo third place finish left Dennis Berkheimer and Chris Helaney as the big winners on Monday evening.
Vaughn Snyder of Massillon won the first Lake Erie Golf Tour tournament of the 2012 season at Ohio Prestwick on Friday, shooting a 3-under par 69.
In perfect conditions, on tricky fast greens, Snyder fired an impressive 2-under par score of 34 on the front nine, then made eagle at the par-5 12th. From there he cruised home to a two shot victory over Tim Ailes of Lewis Center, OH.
Tanglewood National Golf Club hosted the Greater Cleveland Skins Game Thursday night, but not a skin was won.
Birdies were made on three of the nine holes, but each of those holes was tied out.
Six holes were open with no birdies made — including the two par-five holes.
The Lake Erie Golf Tour, a professional mini-tour tournament series with a separate amateur division, plays its first event of the 2012 season this Friday at Ohio Prestwick Country Club in Uniontown.
