I know I’m not the only player in Northeast Ohio who has a creaky back, aching knees, tight hips, or some other chronic bone or muscle ailment that can make focusing on golf a challenge. So when I heard Fred Couples’ news conference from this week’s L.A. Open turn to the topic of back pain and what steps he’s taking to keep playing on two tours at a winning level, I started taking some notes.

The Northeast Ohio Golf Community Loses an Excellent Player and a Great Guy: Jon Brown
Westfield Country Club member and frequent Chippewa Monday Big Skins Game player Jon Brown of Creston died suddenly on Thursday, Jan. 26 in Winter Haven, FL. He was 47.
Jon was a great guy, fun to be around, happy-go-lucky and never an angry word. He was also a heck of a player. It’s tough to lose someone like that from our group and our lives.
