Midway through the Monday, June 24th edition of the Chippewa Scratch League, a lightning storm forced players off of the golf course and the event was called for the week — yet again.
(Sadly, the first-off score of 4-under par 32 in the Better Ball format by Shaun Kloetzer and John Karamas was for naught.)
Since the league season is already extended until the end of September, the series now will consist of just 17 events this year.
But in an effort to jump-start some momentum for this rain-plagued season, League Director Kevin Larizza has decided to make next week Monday, July 1st a Steak Night with a slightly juiced-up 3/3/3 entry fee format.
Here’s the deal:
The entry fees for next Monday will consist of $10 for each three hole segment ($30), $15 for the 9-hole total, and $15 for the skins pot. The jumbo steak dinner with all of the trimmings will be just $15 (which is crazy low, but Kevin wants to thank the League players). And the league golf+cart is $24 like always.
So next Monday’s Steak Night 3/3/3 entry fee is $99 all-in.
If you played in yesterday’s washout and kept your entry fee money in the pot, you will only owe $74 all-in.
And if you are one of the 2019 season pre-pay players, your entry fee is $65 all-in.
Let’s get a huge turnout for next Monday; talk it up and recruit as many teams as possible. Let’s get some action on the line for a big-time 9 holes of scramble/better ball/aggregate shamble. And let’s move the numbers on the thus-far anemic 2019 Leaderboard…
