Dorlon Golf Club in Columbia Station, one of the first NEOH public courses built to a yardage in excess of 7,000, has closed its doors as of today.
Owner Debra Lontor made a post on Facebook to announce the closing.
“After 48 years we finally have to close. I want to thank all of my loyal customers throughout the good times and the bad. A special thanks to my dedicated staff who also stuck with me during some trying years. Special shout out to Donnie Hershey and Jon Haverman. Happy Trails my friends!”
As a business, the Lorain County course battled its very rural location. Online course reviews grew more harsh as revenues dropped and conditions flagged.
