Sarah Willis of Eaton (west of Dayton) shot 73-74 in qualifying over the weekend to finish T15, and has earned the 21st seed in match play in the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club Dunes Course in Pebble Beach.
Willis faces Elayna Bowser of Dearborn, MI today at 1:40pm Eastern in the Round of 64.
Willis was a two-time OHSAA Division II state high school champion in 2016 and 2017, and completed her college career at Penn State in 2022.

UPDATE: Willis lost 1-up to Bowser in the Round of 64. The pair traded holes at 2 and 3, Bowser went up at the fifth, then Willis won three straight at 12-13-14. But Bowser returned the favor, winning 15-16-17.
