14 students from Northern Ohio have been awarded the Evans Scholarship, a prestigious full tuition and housing college grant offered to outstanding student caddies.
The award winners were notified in an online selection interview held January 14th. The students will begin college in the fall of 2021 as Evans Scholars, with most attending either The Ohio State University or Miami University, where they will live in the Evans Scholarship House.
The estimated value of an Evans Scholarship is $120,000 over four years.
Four of the scholarship recipients caddie at Elyria Country Club, four at Inverness Club in Toledo, two at Sylvania Country Club, and one each from Toledo, Lakewood, Canterbury and Beechmont Country Clubs.
“Each of these deserving young students epitomizes what our Program has been about since its creation in 1930,” said WGA Chairman Kevin Buggy. “Their dedication, hard work and sacrifice is humbling, and we are honored to be able to help them pursue their dreams.”
