Fairlawn Country Club broke ground on November 6th for a $5.5 million capital improvement plan encompassing a wide range of upgrades and amenities throughout the property. The improvement plan includes:
• a reimagined clubhouse with expanded indoor/outdoor dining, covered porches, and a central gathering bar and lounge, indoor and outdoor fireplaces
• a new golf shop
• dedicated golf simulator lounge for year-round play and instruction.
• cocktail lounge / private dining room
• a new Kid’s Club and enhanced family-friendly amenities.
• refreshed men’s locker room bar
• remodeled racquet complex
• a full parking lot replacement
• bunker refresh on the golf course.
Construction is now underway, with completion anticipated by Spring 2026. Throughout the process, Fairlawn Country Club will remain open to members, with only minor adjustments to ensure a safe and efficient buildout.
Developed in partnership with Welty Building Company and Perspectus Architecture, the project is designed to redefine the member experience while honoring the Club’s 108-year legacy of family, friendship, and hospitality. The plan was approved with more than 89% of members voting in support, reflecting an extraordinary level of unity and confidence in the Club’s shared vision for the future.

Founded in 1917, Fairlawn Country Club has long been a cornerstone of the greater Akron community. The current plan reinforces the Club’s continued dedication to its Members, ensuring it remains a premier destination for golf, swimming, racquets, dining, and connection for decades to come.
