Scratch Individual Match Play

Concord’s Trevor Cohen, a member at Quail Hollow Country Club, was able to play a home match in the finals against Ben Hogan of Oberlin Country Club, and he took advantage of that benefit.
Cohen earned a 2&1 win over Hogan to take the 2025 NOGA Match Play Championship.
After a first-round bye, Cohen had to face some talented players on his way to those finals: he bested Joe Albrecht by 5&4; in a close match, topped Ian Hardesty 1-up; in the quarterfinals beat Howard Clendenin by 4&3; then got past John Angelo in the semis by 2&1.

Scratch Senior Individual Match Play

It was an all Club Walden finals for the 2025 Senior Match Play Championship. But they didn’t play the match there.
Greg Myers of Twinsburg and Tom Laubacher of Aurora are both members at Club Walden, but they couldn’t play the finals match at their home club because the course is closed for major renovations.
So instead they played at Portage Country Club, where Myers bested Laubacher in a close back-and-forth match that went 19 holes to decide.
Myer’s road to the title was a challenging one. He started off by beating Mike Stiller by 2&1, then Jeff Semple 6&4. He then had to face the #1 and #2 points earners in the 2025 Senior Player of the Year race, topping both Allen Freeman then Rob Schustrich by a 2&1 result.

Cleveland’s Brett Dubin + Lucas Liberatore of Lakewood methodically won the NOGA Four-Ball Match Play, only once facing a nail-biter on their way to the title.
Shooting a 2-under par 70 at Tippecanoe Country Club to finish T6, Dubin + Liberatore were seeded in the #6 position for match play, earning a first round bye.
In their first match, they topped George Rohan + Jonah Karzmer by 3&2.
Then, in their closest test, they faced The Country Club’s #3 seeded David Stover + Putter Johnson, coming away with victory after a 21 hole contest.
Next up was a match against the #2 seed Ian Hardesty + Andrew Malkus, which Dubin + Liberatore handled 2&1.
In the finals match, Dubin + Liberatore took awhile to get rolling, but eventually defeated Jeff Meagrow + John Bernatovicz at Chagrin Valley by a 4&3 margin.

After a first round bye, they dispatched John Toth + Edward Diebold by 4&3. From there, they faced the closest of matches.
Lambos + Peterson won in 19 holes against Allen Freeman + Mark Borlin, then again won in 19 holes over

In the finals against Rob Schustrich + Greg Myers, Lambos + Peterson had a slightly easier time, just barely, earning a 2&1 win to take the title.
