The Women’s Akron District Golf Association held its District Championship at Ohio Prestwick Country Club in Uniontown over the last three days, August 12-14. The competition featured a three-day event for those women with an index of 10.0 or below, and a two-day event for all other participating members.
Fortunately, the women golfers had fair skies for all three days even though thunderstorms were predicted.
Our overall low gross winner, Emily Baumgartner, shot 74-79-78 for a low gross total of 231 to win by four shots over Alison Cress. Cress was the low net winner in the Championship Flight with a net score of 223.
The low gross winner in the First Flight was Natalie Weinsz with a combined two-day total of 170. The low net winner in the First Flight was Cheryl Bittner with a score of 145.
The low gross winner in the Second Flight was Dana Miday with a combined two-day total of 181. The low net winner in the Second Flight was Kathy Dimos with a score of 153.
Finally, the low gross in the Third Flight was Sharon Davis with a combined two-day total of 190. The low net winner in the Third Flight was Jan Schaffert with a score of 156.
The WADGA Closing Day event will be hosted by Silver Lake Country Club on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
