Hawthorne Valley Closes

The owner of Hawthorne Valley Golf Club in Solon has kept to his word.

Unable to attract 300 paid members by his self-set February 1st deadline, owner Fred Rzepka has closed the Donald Ross designed Solon golf course.

As of late February only 162 members had verbally committed to join for 2016 — none paid — so the decision to end the membership drive and close the golf course was made.

A call to the club now plays an automated voicemail message stating ‘thanks but we’ve closed’.
