Common sense says that it’s not a good idea to close a Donald Ross golf course.
Thank goodness common sense has prevailed.
Davey Golf has agreed to a management contract with owners Fred and Peter Rzepka to operate the Hawthorne Valley Golf Club in Solon.
In turn, Davey Golf has named the former Chippewa Golf Club pro Brian Solitario as General Manager (pictured here with his daughter).
The three year management contract turns the formerly private club into a fully public operation. The course will re-open its doors starting tomorrow morning, April 22nd.
“We’re running an opening special for the next few weeks, just to get things rolling,” said Solitario. “18 holes of golf with a cart will be $25 on the weekdays and $40 on the weekends. Just give us a call at (440) 232-1400.”
