The largest handicap golf championship in the world is going to crown a scratch champion in 2014.
The Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship brings no less than 3,000 golfers to the Grand Strand every August. It’s turned into the year’s biggest golf party at many of the top courses in Myrtle Beach.
This year, the annual net championship is adding a Gross Flight option for the event’s top players, and the tournament hopes it helps draw an entirely new demographic of players to the August 25-29 event featuring four rounds at different Myrtle Beach-area courses and a host of other features.

I’ve been playing in this event for over 10 years. Probably the biggest skins pots you’ll ever see. One guy won a 2 day carry over on day 3 and won over $3000 dollars. The pot is doubled on the last day in the top 4 flights. I ran it for our 2 flights and we had $2600 in the pot. Two winners walked away with $1300 a piece. If your looking for a game, you’ll find it at the World Am. It’s a solid week of big skins games.
