PREVIEW: 2012 Lake Erie Golf Tour

The 2012 Lake Erie Golf Tour tournament season will have a few improvements put into place, with some new courses and a few operational changes. But for the most part, the series will be run pretty much the same way as last year.

The LEGT will still feature same-day payouts, with 30% of the field paid out in pro and am divisions, and a big skins game. But a few things will be different, too.

An early sign up promotion is being offered right now: any player who signs up by April 15th will receive 20% off their 2012 membership (so its only $80 for the whole season). After April 15th, the membership amount goes back up to $100.

Some of the tournament courses are still the same, but we’ve added some new great tracks like Ohio Prestwick, Walden Hills, Skyland Pines.

We’ve also made some changes as far as scheduling goes, as tournaments are now going to be held on Fridays. I have also scheduled all my events around the other big area tournaments (like the Ohio Open, Tigertown Open, Budweiser Shoot-Out, Ohio Mid-Am, Cleveland Am, Summit County Am, Ohio Amateur, etc.). This way, our schedule does not try to compete with those great tournaments, encouraging LEGT players to play in those events.

Another new feature is the ability to take credit/debit cards on-site for entry fee payments.

The Lake Erie Golf Tour looks forward to building on last year with another great season of professional and top amateur tournament golf!
