The entry fee for both days is $125 and includes two rounds of golf with cart, range balls, breakfast, lunch at the turn, heavy apps after play on Saturday, and a sliced pork dinner on Sunday afternoon with local corn on the cob, and several sides using local growers.
This is my favorite event of the year and you can expect a tough setup. But nothing goofy — pins will be fair and you can expect some good scores as the conditions at Chipp are really coming around after a slow start to the season.
The field is always big as some of the best talent in NE Ohio comes out for this event, and the trophy for the Chippewa Championship is one of the most coveted around.
Also, we’ll have our traditional skins games, odds boards, parimutuels and much more.
Different this year, all players will have the option to take prizes won as gift certificates from Golf Galaxy / Golfsmith or CASH! You decide!
One unique feature that we employ that nobody else does to my knowledge is that all previous Club Champs are invited back for life AT NO CHARGE!
The putting contest on Sunday will feature a challenging putt putt course: $20 for 3 trips around with half the proceeds going to Marilyn Chapple to help offset the medical bills from her late husband and our dear friend David Chapple who lost his battle with Cancer on July 4th. The other half of the entry fees go to the top 3 finishers in the putting contest. We’ll have a big ceremony and scoreboard dedication to our friend Chap on Sunday afternoon, too; you will not want to miss that.
Bring your caddie. Bring your spouse. Bring your girlfriend, bring your parents, and have them follow you on your quest to bring home the Chippy Cup.
This promises to be our best event of the season, and our best Club Championship ever.
Call Chipp at 330-658-6126, request your tee time, and request your playing partners for day one.
Thank you all for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing you next weekend!
