WHO ARE MITCHELL & HASKELL?: Joe Mitchell was the long-time head professional at The Country Club and long-time member Coburn Haskell is credited with patenting the modern golf ball in 1899.

HOME, SWEET HOME: The Country Club, founded in 1889, has been the gracious host of the Mitchell-Haskell Tour Championship for 22 of the 23 years the tournament has been played. The only year it wasn’t held at Country was in 2022 when the club was undergoing a massive restoration. Brookside Country Club in Canton hosted the event in 2022 with Randy Dietz winning the second of his two Tour titles in the Regular Division and Tom Atchison winning the last of his five Senior Division titles. Sadly, Atchison has missed the entire 2025 season following knee surgery.
