41st NOPGA Senior Professional Championship Set for Monday and Tuesday at Chagrin Valley CC
More than 30 area senior professionals, including seven former champions, have entered the 41st Senior Professional Championship conducted by the Northern Ohio Professional Golfers Association.
The 36-hole tournament will be played Monday and Tuesday (Aug. 25-26) at the Chagrin Valley Country Club.
Also known as the NOPGA Senior Section Championship, the event is significant in that it offers two incentives beyond the prize money.
Northern Ohio PGA Section Senior Professional Championship will qualify four players to the 37th Senior PGA Professional Championship, to be held Oct. 23-26, 2025 at PGA Golf Club, Wanamaker & Ryder Courses, in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Four alternate spots also are available.
The Senior Professional Championship is the last event to determine the NOPGA’s Senior team for the 29th Ohio Cup Matches to be played Oct. 7-8 at Wedgewood Golf & Country Club in Powell, Ohio. The Ohio Cup is a Ryder Cup-like event pitting the NOPGA against the Southern Ohio PGA. Each team will consist of ten Regular members including one pick by Captain Mitch Camp. The Senior team will consist of six members including one captain’s choice. Players lock their spots on the team by virtue of their finish on the Titleist/FootJoy Senior Ohio Cup Points List. (More information below).
THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN:

REVISITING 2024 AT WESTBROOK:

Mike Stone (Belmont Country Club) and Scott Pollack (1899-Indoor Golf-Twinsburg) tied for second with identical rounds of 71-71=142). Rob Moss (Pepper Pike Club) was fourth at 71-72=143 and Tony Adcock (Foxy Golf) clinched the final qualifying spot when he defeated Gary Trivisonno (PGA Life Member) in a one-hole playoff after both shot 144. Trivisonno became the first alternate followed by Sean Kenily (Union Club), Tom Waitrovich (PGA Life Member) and Tom Atchison (PGA Life Member). Parker’s 69 was the low round of the tournament.
