Both Bobby Wadsworth of Uniontown and Steve DeBolt of Champion return to defend their 2024 championships in the 50-59 and 70+ age divisions when the 55th Senior Portage County Amateur Championship tees off this Saturday at Raccoon Hill in Kent and Windmill Lakes in Ravenna on Sunday.
Other top-three returners include John Sloe and Dan Ledenican, both of Aurora in the Platinum (70+) age division; Robert Gintert of Newton Falls in the Gold Division (60-69); and Dove Fall of Windham among the golfers in the Senior Division (50-59).
Seniors play 18 holes beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday at Raccoon, then travel to Ravenna for the final 18-holes beginning at 11:04 a.m. on Sunday. Awards will be presented immediately following each division’s conclusion.
The Senior Amateur is the final of four tournaments sponsored by the Portage County Amateur Championships that started with the Kids and Junior Amateurs early in July, followed by the 95th Amateur that started it all 95 years ago competing the final weekend of July.
