On Monday, June 30th, the Northern Ohio Golf Association and the Women’s Ohio State Golf Association held the first round of the 102nd Women’s Ohio State Amateur Championship at Weymouth Country Club in Medina, Ohio.
The sixty players in the Championship Division played a round of stroke play to determine seeding for the match play bracket, which will be played Tuesday through Thursday. The top 32 players from Monday will advance to the Championship Bracket.
Susan Glasby posted the low round of the day at Weymouth, carding an even par 72. The three time defending champion of the West Virginia Women’s Amateur will look to add a trophy from a different state, and has put herself in prime position by securing the top overall spot in the Championship Match Play Bracket.
Anna Ritter, a member of the Illinois Women’s Golf team, finished just behind Glasby, posting a one over par 73. Ritter secured solo second place and the number two overall seed in the Championship Match Play Bracket.
Kylee Heidemann, a Dayton Flyer Women’s Team member, would secure the third place spot after finishing just behind Ritter with a 74.
