After a soggy start to the morning with heavy rainfall threatening early play, the skies cleared just in time for a picture-perfect afternoon at Seneca Golf Course. Bright sun and blue skies greeted players for most of the day, allowing for some competitive scoring as the 2025 Seneca Course Championship got underway.
Leading the field is Chris Okeson, who carded an impressive 1-under-par 71 in Saturday’s first round. His steady play and ability to navigate the damp early conditions set the tone.
Hot on his heels are three players tied at +1 (73): Rick Deichert, Ian Morgan, and Mike Simpson. Each posted solid rounds of their own, keeping the pressure on Okeson heading into Sunday’s final round.
With the leaderboard tightly packed, Day Two is shaping up to be a wide open finish.
A reminder, the top 15% of non-exempt players earn qualification into next month’s Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship.
