Two-time Cleveland Am champ Vaughn Snyder of Canton was the only player to match par at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course in Brecksville on Saturday, and now holds a three-shot lead over first-round co-leader Rick Deichert of Shaker Heights in the 2025 edition of the Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship.
Snyder sits at 3-under par for the tournament after posting 69 at Manakiki then 71 at Sleepy. Snyder’s even par round on Saturday featured four birdies and four bogeys.
Deichert followed up his bogey-free 5-under par 67 first round at Manakiki with a 76 at Sleepy, undermined by three double-bogeys on the scorecard.
Jeff Sawitke from Painesville, the other first-round co-leader after his Friday 67 at Manakiki, is alone in third place after a Sleepy Hollow 77.
