Remembrance for Don Olney Jr. Set for Thursday at Chippewa

Don Olney Jr.Northeast Ohio Golf lost one of its truly ‘good guys’ on Saturday, as longtime Northern Ohio PGA pro Don Olney, Jr. passed away at the age of 56 after a car accident last Tuesday.

For the past 25 years was the head pro at Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown, where he was also the golf coach for Chippewa High School.

Born in Akron, Don spent most of his life residing in Wadsworth and most recently living in Wooster. Don graduated from Wadsworth High School Class of ’77, was an Assistant Golf Pro at Rawiga Country Club for six years.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held at Chippewa Golf Club, 12147 Shank Rd., Doylestown, Ohio, on Thursday, September 9, 2015 from 4 – 8 p.m.
