Reporting tournament results to OHIO.GOLF is easy, especially if you keep it simple.
The BEST reporting format: simply type out the results directly into the body of an email, posting everything in a single column straight down the page. DO NOT USE multiple columns across a page. DO NOT USE tabs or multiple spaces for alignment. Results presented in a single column down can be copy/pasted easily for quick posting.
For the header, type the event name or school names, the golf course name and location, the event day and date. Then below that, list the FULL NAME of each player and his or her score beside the name. Do this one-line-after-the-next, right down the page. SCORES FROM ALL PLAYERS / TEAMS in an event are required to post.
EXAMPLE RESULTS FORMATS SHOWN BELOW.
When finished, email those results to golf@ohio.golf. Results must be received within 48 hours after the completion of an event to be posted.
You also may send typed results as an attached Word document, a spreadsheet or a text file. But the same formatting rules apply to any attachment: type results in a single column straight down the page. Keep it simple!
An attached PDF of typed scores can be used, but only if it follows the ‘straight text down the page’ format and is not an image file (jpg, png, etc).
Another option: if your athletic department uses a service like VNN Pressbox to send scores to multiple media outlets all at once, simply add golf@ohio.golf to your golf team’s Pressbox.
RESULTS FORMATS WE CANNOT ACCEPT
Please DO NOT email a photo of a scoresheet, or a screen capture of an online scoring app, or a graphic file of typed scores as results. We cannot copy-and-paste that content into the website, so we cannot use it. Results must be typed and must include scores for all teams and all players who participated in the event — not just your team.
MAKE YOUR EVENT RESULTS EVEN BETTER
To really stand out, write a paragraph or two of ‘game story’ about the event: a few sentences on who played well, how the round unfolded, notes on course or weather conditions, aces or other special occurrences, etc.
Better still? Attach a photo or two taken during competition or the winners holding a trophy, or post them to X and we’ll find and use them. Photos get attention within the results story plus as a featured image on the home page and/or on the category pages. THE BEST PHOTOS ARE TAKEN WIDE (not tall) and with enough resolution to be a 2-3 MB in file. Check your camera settings prior to taking any photos and set the resolution to 2048 x 1536 or higher. You can simply email those photos to us or upload them to DropBox or Google Drive and provide a link for download.

Remember, we CAN use a scores spreadsheet sent as an attachment to golf@ohio.golf. But please keep the spreadsheet format SIMPLE: post names and scores into their own single columns; don’t use macros or multi-sheet cross-references; don’t spend time setting fonts, alignments, or background colors. Simply type or calculate the results STRAIGHT DOWN THE PAGE so we can copy and paste your results!
