The Solon Comets wrapped up a perfect conference season by winning the Greater Cleveland Conference Post Season Tournament on Monday at Briarwood Golf Course. Their score of 346 was better than runner-up Medina by 15 strokes.
Solon and Medina each placed four players in the top ten for the day. Grace Gao of Solon was the medalist with an 81. Morgan Briley of Brunswick was eighth overall with a 94 and Nicole Betz of Mentor finished ninth with a 95.
The GCC should be proud of the sportsmanship and friendship shown by the coaches and players all season long. Competition was often put aside as older more experienced players took time to teach and guide the newer players and it was amazing to watch these friendships develop. The programs at Brunswick, Medina, Mentor, Shaker Heights, Solon, and Strongsville have solid foundations that will only grow stronger in the years to come.
