The match between Independence and Lutheran West at Shawnee Hills lived up to the hype. When the first for scores came in the teams were seperated by one stroke. When the next four came in the teams were separated by 3 strokes. The finals scores came in and gave Independence the 164-174 win in the match of unbeatens. Senior Sam Webb led the Lady Longhorns with a school record 32. The 3-under par round for Webb ties her school record set in 2018. Senior Nadia Kauntz (46) continued her solid play to shoot under her season average. Junior Callie Wabeke (46) bounced back from a double par on the 1st hole to collect a par on hole 2. Sophomore Julia Colton (50) had a great round to shoot 4 strokes below her average. Juniors Emma Collins (66) and Ella Walden (63) continued their improvement in striking the ball well and learning the game of golf. Independence was led by Morgan Pascarella (38), Allie Ksiazka (39) and their number 5 golfer Emma Konopa who came in with a 41. The two teams will face off again on September 10th, this time at Lutheran West’s home course Red Tail in Avon.
