The annual Zoar 2 x 4 Scramble was held on Sunday at Zoar Golf Club. The traditional July 4th event features two 2-man scramble teams recording the better score on each hole, but all scores under par count leading to some really low scores.
The team pair of Kevin Miller (Dover) and Mitch Levengood (New Philadelphia) had the round of the day, shooting 14-under par 58 (28-30). Their teammates Phil Rangel (New Philadelphia) and Steve Cunningham (New Philadelphia) helped out making 9 birdies themselves to get the team to 23-under par!
That finish was good enough for a two stroke victory over the three-time defending champions of Brian Smith, Ryan Stefanski, Jimmy Wild and Steve Blackburn Jr.
There were three skins on the day: Miller and Levengood eagled the par-4 third; Wild and Blackburn Jr. birdied the long par-3 fourth; and Smith and Stefanski chipped in for eagle on the par-5 14th.
