Over 27 holes of scramble at Sable Creek Golf Club in Hartville on Saturday, Rick Deichert + Ryan Stefanski made three eagles, 15 birdies and one bogey in winning the Akron District Golf Association event going away.
Their sizzling nines of -8 / -5 / -7 added up to a 20-under par total, good for a three shot victory over defending champs Bob Spino + Mike Simpson and Kyle Jones + Ryan Stocke.
But Spino + Simpson left with the most won on the day, as they nabbed one of two skins on the Second Nine and the only skin on the Third Nine. That add a tidy $1,060 in skins money to their co-second place prize and nine hole bumps.
The next event on the calendar is the rescheduled ADGA Parke H. Thornton 2-Player Better Ball next Saturday, September 20 at Turkeyfoot Lake Golf Links in Akron. Entry deadline is Wednesday, Sep 20 at 5p.
