Jon Kaplan, Robert Franks, Joshua Grondin, and Kevin O’Brien from Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club topped the field in the 2-player scrambles format at The Club at Tartan Fields today, jumping out to the early lead after the Columbus District Golf Association’s first Pilkington Cup event of 2025.
The Pilkington Cup is a series of three events with players from Columbus-area clubs competing as teams. Today’s first event at The Club at Tartan Fields was a 2-player scramble teams competition, with partners switching within the team after nine holes. The second event, at Cumberland Trail on July 29th, will feature a Stableford points format with scores from all four teammates counting. The 2025 series wraps up with the third event at Scioto Reserve on August 21st, played under a 2-Best-Balls-of-4 format.
Teams earn points at each of the three Pilkington Cup events; the points earned today are listed at right in the results below.
