On a rainy Sunday in Brecksville, Ryan Stefanski + Ryan Gutowski made birdies on the fourth, seventh and ninth holes at Sleepy Hollow, then slogged through the rain for the next nine holes in even par to earn a hard-fought one-shot victory in the Cleveland Metroparks 2-Player Better Ball.
The Ryans’ 3-under par 68 was good enough to get past Adam Pry + Joe Albrecht, who made four birdies against two bogeys on the day to take solo second place.
Matthew Frey + Kyle Jones were the third and final team to finish under par, earning a solo third at 1-under par 70.
The shot of the day belonged to Ron Wilson, who made a hole-in-one on the par-3 12th at Sleepy Hollow!
The next event on the Cleveland Metroparks Golf schedule is the Junior Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship next Monday, June 16 at Seneca Golf Course in Broadview Heights, followed by the 2-day, 36-hole Senior Greater Cleveland Amateur Championship starting Wednesday, June 25 at Big Met Golf Course in Fairview Park.
