Adam Pry + Joe Albrecht and Jack Garswood + Andrew Grayson shared the NOGA Great Lakes Auto Scratch Four-Ball #2 title on Wednesday at Stone Oak Country Club in Holland, near Toledo.
Grayson + Garswood finished strong to match Pry + Albrecht as the leaders in the clubhouse. After a two-birdie/two-bogey even par 36 on the front-nine, the pairing made another bogey on the 10th. From there, they posted four birdies in their final eight holes, including the 18th, for a strong comeback in the warm, windy conditions.
Adam Pry + Joe Albrecht had a different path to their team’s 3-under par 69 on Wednesday, matching Grayson + Garswood with a 36 on the front and a 33 on the back. But Pry + Albrecht made only one team bogey on their day, at the 7th, then closed with three back nine birdies.
Brian Schubert + Shayne Fischer won the Senior Division title at Stone Oak. After starting off with a bogey on the first hole, they were able to right the ship quickly with a birdie, and finished the front-nine with a one-under par 35. The pairing would only post only one more bogey the rest of the day, while making four birdies to claim the top spot.
Scott Winckowski + Mike Belacic started hot, jumping out to 3-under par after their first six holes. But from there they posted three bogeys against one more birdie and finished one shot back with a 70 for the day.
The next event on the NOGA Great Lakes Auto Scratch Series schedule is the Stroke Play #2 at The Lake Club in Youngstown on July 10.
