Both the Championship and Senior Divisions at the 2025 NOGA Great Lakes Auto Scratch Stroke Play #4 at Glenmoor Country Club finished with a tie at the top.
The final few holes in both Divisions made for some ‘great TV’, too.
First, the Championship Division.

Fairview Park’s Jack Garswood jumped out to a scorching hot start, making five birdies on the front nine to turn in 31. But he cooled down when didn’t make birdie at the short par-5 10th, then made bogeys at the 12th and 14th. The swagger returned with a massive drive and a laser long-iron shot to hit the par-5 15th in two, making an easy two-putt birdie to get back to 4-under par.

A few groups in front of Garswood, Beachwood’s Chris Okeson finished up a tidy round of 3-under par 69, making just one bogey on the day against four birdies — including a key birdie at the par-3 17th.
So Garswood knew the number to beat.

Playing in the same group as Garswood, Lakewood’s Colin Burns took a while to get his round rolling. He turned in 1-over par 37, then made three consecutive birdies on 10-11-12 to get to 2-under on the day. But that three-birdie run was made when Garswood sat at 5-under par, so it still felt a long way behind. Burns’ bogey at 13 made it feel even further behind.
Okeson was already in the house at 3-under par. Garswood was at 4-under par after his birdie at 15. And Burns was 1-under par through 15, seemingly out of it.
But the last three holes flipped the script. Burns finished with birdies on 16 and 18. Garswood made an untimely bogey at 17. So all three players totaled 3-under par 69 for the day — albeit each in a much different way — giving all three a share of the victory.
On the Senior side, even par 72 was good enough for a share of that title.

Aurora’s Greg Myers posted his even par total first, overcoming two bogeys and a TRIPLE-BOGEY-7 at the 11th hole by making five birdies on the day.

Parma’s Paul Krueger toured the front nine in even par after opening bogey-bogey. He then made an eagle-3 at the par-5 10th to jump out to a two shot lead. But bogeys at 15 and 16 brought him back to level par, and he couldn’t convert a look at birdie at the last to take the title outright.
In fact, Mark Borlin, Mike Belacic and Allen Freeman all had birdie looks at the last to join in on the even par total tie, but none of them could get their putt to drop, either.
The Glenmoor event was the last opportunity to earn NOGA Great Lakes Auto Player of the Year points, and today’s finishes did cause some movement in the Top-16 in each division. That ranking determines who earns an invitation to the NOGA Tour Championship, played this coming Sunday and Monday at Firestone Country Club’s Fazio and South Courses. Watch for a post tomorrow with all the POY details…
